It never ceases to amaze me just how many people love fishing. It is, after all, the number one participation “sport” in Australia and men and women, boys and girls of all ages love the experience.
Unfortunately, very few anglers really ever see any success and 8 out of 10 people I meet say something like, “Oh I love fishing but I never catch a thing. I don’t know why, I guess I’m just bad luck.”
You could make a case for luck. I have the occasional bad day myself. When you’re relying on another animal to cooperate with you on your Tuesday off, there’s every chance they’ll be hungrier on Wednesday but surely this can’t always be the case? And it isn’t.
The main reason why most people aren’t catching a fish, or catching only blowfish, is because they’re doing something wrong. Wrong spot, wrong bait, wrong tackle, wrong lure, wrong tide, my word the options for getting it wrong are endless.
It’s a bit like golf really. It’s not an easy sport and plenty of hackers end up frustrated and don’t think twice about turning to lessons from a pro … but why don’t people think to get fishing lessons? I reckon the main reason is because they don’t know that they can!
And that's where we come in.
We can offer you a fishing "consultancy" service, which means myself or one of my team will accompany you on your next day's fishing. We can come onboard your boat, or meet you at a spot on the river, rocks or beach where you want to learn how to catch fish.
We can, of course, recommend spots, help you with your gear and knots, teach you to cast and generally help you to think like a fish! In fact, so far we've never had a customer who didn't learn more in a day with myself or another member of my team than they'd ever learned in a single day before. Looking back, most customers have ended up with their best fish of at least one species!
We even take professional photos of your catch so the memories last a lifetime and you'll end up with new fishing spots, new ideas and perhaps even a fish to target that you never even knew existed.

This applies even for groups of up to 3 people so it's a bargain compared to the cost and frustration of endless trips without any fish. You can use my years of experience gained from filming the Fishing WA TV Series and writing over 400 articles about WA, most on Perth fishing and locations.

"From the moment we started fishing with Steve at the FADs we knew we were in for a great day ahead. With dolphinfish in mind, we were taught things from the word go with Steve giving us tips on everything from casting bait and lures, to boat direction and speed.
"The fish weren’t co-operating for anyone but Steve thought the problem through and taught us a unique solution. It wasn't long before we landed our first dollie each, and what an awesome experience it was for us out there.
"I personally can't wait to go out again and put to practice what I learned that day. I recommend Steve for anyone keen to learn more about their fishing and fishing spots. What an awesome day out."
